Kaestle Boos volunteered its time and design talent to assist the Friends of the Walnut Hill Rose Garden to design a new rose garden to coincide with playgrounds and athletic fields at Walnut Hill Park. The selected courtyard site was formerly a fountain with a cement bed which could not support rose beds. The design took advantage of the existing infrastructure, creating flower beds, pavilions and a climbing rose trellis around the courtyard. Roses were donated, and volunteers shared their time to plant the new bushes. Kaestle Boos also made recommendations for different varieties of roses to be considered, in part to provide a diversity of flowers, but also for their durability and adaptability to the surroundings.
