Kaestle Boos Associates completed a feasibility study for a new combined public safety facility. Space needs programs were developed through department interviews and questionnaires to understand current operations and existing conditions. The project was not approved at referendum and the Town decided to explore a new smaller, stand-alone police station and fire sub-station on the same proposed site, which was approved by the voters. The police programming includes a drive thru sally port, secure evidence processing and storage areas, secure prisoner processing and detention area, dispatch center, roll call room, and offices. Fire station programming includes five apparatus bays, a radio room, offices, and a day room. An additional fire station is also being renovated.
