The Hampden Police Department was operating out of less than 1,000 SF in the town hall basement. A space needs assessment was conducted to determine a recommended size to meet Massachusetts accreditation standards and allow the department to operate efficiently and improve security. Kaestle Boos also reviewed the proposed site to confirm it could support a new police station. Features of the new facility include secure detention and evidence processing areas, armory, locker rooms, administrative offices, dispatch center, and a training room which is used as the Emergency Operations Center, .
