The design of the new facility was driven in part to address the community’s concerns about the size and cost of a new fire facility. Features include 4 double-deep, drive-thru apparatus bays, operation support spaces including separate turnout gear, decon and SCBA rooms, administrative offices, storage, and living and sleeping areas. The site is shared with an elementary school, a museum, and recreational tennis courts, so safe site circulation for facilities had to be maintained in the design and during the construction process.
