A new 73,400 square foot middle school wing, including a new media center, to house 400 students in grades 5-8 was added to the existing high school. The existing middle school cafeteria and media center were converted to a new music room and two new classrooms, respectively, for the high school. The existing high school metal shop area was renovated to become a new physics lab, new tech ed classroom and a new finishing room. The two-level design allows for the flexibility for future expansion to combat increasing enrollment projections. Phasing plans were utilized as the school remained open and operational throughout construction. Separate entrances and drop-offs for the middle and high school were created and parking was increased by more than 150 spaces. The project was completed $1,000,000 under budget.
