The new Norwalk High School will be approximately 328,000 square feet with a budget of $239 million to complete. It will be comprised of two “schools” on a single campus: the P-TECH School consisting of 500 students and a Comprehensive High School of 1,500 students that includes visual and performing arts pathways.
The new building will be constructed on the existing football field complex in lieu of a phased demolition and new construction of the existing building. The proposed plan was developed to minimize the impact on student education, student safety, and building operations throughout the construction period. The new high school will feature innovative and improved educational spaces and technologies, including classroom/lab spaces, gymnasium, kitchen/cafeteria, auditorium, natatorium, and parking. It is slated for completion in early 2027.
