In response to overcrowding at Connecticut’s largest high school, Kaestle Boos worked with the City of New Britain to complete a new 3-story addition to New Britain High School. This “Freshman Academy” wing contains 18 new classrooms designated only for the freshman class. In addition, a new 250-seat lecture hall was constructed and renovations were completed to create new science laboratories, a special education suite and a new culinary arts program. In 2010, renovations were completed to improve code and accessibility compliance at the school including the building, site, and athletic facilities.
