Kaestle Boos has been working with the Minuteman Regional High School, which serves 16 district towns, since 2007. Our work includes an existing conditions assessment as part of an energy savings study, code study update in 2012, and miscellaneous renovations. Most recently, Kaestle Boos completed a feasibility study of Minuteman High School, confirming the existing conditions and space needs and developing conceptual design options to meet the needs of a modern, 21st century vocational, technical high school. Kaestle Boos worked with an educational facility planner to develop the educational “vision” and space needs program for the school which will include academic classrooms, classrooms for more than 18 trade areas including robotics, culinary arts, environmental science and technology, cosmetology, programming and web development, HVAC, and automotive. Options for either a new facility or additions and renovations were developed and evaluated, and the new facility option was recently selected as the preferred concept. Kaestle Boos is currently working with the District and the Massachusetts School Building Authority with the design process which will be moving into the schematic design phase.
